Troi Serial Plug-in gives FileMaker Pro the
ability to read from and write to the serial ports
of the computer directly from within FileMaker Pro
without the need of a separate application. And it
works completely cross-platform!

3.0
Troi Serial plug-in 3.0 adds these new functions and
features:
- Made compatible with FileMaker Pro 8.5.
- (Mac OS X) Converted to Universal plug-in which runs natively on PowerPC and Intel Macs.
- Added new Serial_TextToAsciiValue function, which converts a text to the ASCII values.
- (Windows) The Serial_GetPortNames function now detects all existing serial ports, instead of always returning with COM1...COM4.
Key features
Key features of the Troi Serial Plug-in are:
- FileMake native script triggering, to get incoming data into the
database.
- "Serial_Control" function to temporarily suspend the
incoming data stream and resume it when you are
interested in the data.
- "Wait for Match" function to wait for a specific
character string before triggering.
- The possibility to open an unlimited number of serial
ports and to trigger different scripts for different
ports.
- Support for high speed connections up to 230
Kbps.
- Buffering of data up to 64k per port.
- Clear example databases and a user manual to get
started quickly.
The plug-in works with all types of serial ports
including those added through an extension card of USB to Serial adaptor. Troi Serial
plug-in runs on any machine that is able to run FileMaker
Pro 7.0 or higher. You can also include the plug-in with
runtimes made with FileMaker Pro Advanced.

Try Troi Serial Plug-in before
you buy
You are free and invited to test the program before you
pay. You may also make copies of the original and complete
package (including the Read Me file) and distribute it to
customers, friends etc. However, you may not distribute a
modified or registered version.
What are the costs?
Troi Serial Plug-in is more expensive than our other plug-ins, as it is a very specialized plug-in, with a limited customer base. We currently only sell a cross-platform developer license which allows you to deploy it with your solution, both on Mac OS X as on Windows:
Please note that if you still develop in FileMaker Pro 6: The plug-in uses a new 3.0 version of the registration. This registration also works with the classic 2.6 plug-in.
