Below you'll find some information regarding compatibility
of Troi Plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 12. This is based on our initial tests. We are performing more tests, and will be providing more information. Please check back for updates.

Summary
Running plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 12
In general all our plug-ins that worked with FileMaker Pro 11 still work with FileMaker Pro 12.
See below for the details on specific plug-in versions.
Running plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 12 and Mac OS X
FileMaker Pro 12 for Mac OS X can only run on Intel Macs. All current Troi Plug-ins are Universal versions, which can run on both Intel and PowerPC Macs. Of course on PowerPC our plug-ins will only run under older versions of FileMaker Pro.
The same plug-in architecture
The plug-in architecture has not changed in
FileMaker 12. So there is no need to change any function
calls when converting to FileMaker 12 (as compared to the
change in plug-in architecture introduced in FileMaker Pro
7).
New: Improved and simple plug-in updating
Plug-in updating has been simplified in FileMaker Pro 12. You now store plug-ins in solution files and install updates from container fields. The Auto Update plug-in is no longer needed. Troi will soon provide an example file to demonstrate this update process in FileMaker Pro 12.
NOTE We have already prepared most of our plug-ins for this improved updating process. However, some of our plug-ins still need to be updated to reflect the correct version number (they return 1.0 instead of the real version number). See the table below.
Location of installed plug-ins
When you make use of the new plug-in updating functionality the plug-ins will be installed in the same location as with auto-updated plug-ins from FileMaker Server 9 through 11:
- Windows XP:
C:\Document Settings\User Name\Local Settings\Application Data\FileMaker\Extensions
- Windows Vista and Windows 7:
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\FileMaker\Extensions
- Mac OS X:
Macintosh HD:Users:User Name:Library:Application Support:FileMaker:Extensions
TIP If you use auto-update ànd install plug-ins manually: it is best to only install plug-ins in the folders above and no longer use the Extensions folder next to the FileMaker Pro application itself.
