Troi Automatisering releases Troi Dialog Plug-in 5.1 for FileMaker Pro 10

Updated dialog plug-in for FileMaker Pro 10 extends input capabilities and lets you present slideshows.

Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands, January 14th, 2009--Troi Automatisering today announced the immediate availability of Troi Dialog Plug-in 5.1 for FileMaker Pro 10.

What is Troi Dialog Plug-in?

Troi Dialog Plug-in is a very powerful tool for displaying all sorts of dialogs in FileMaker Pro 10. The text of the dialog and of the buttons can be created dynamically by using a calculation. All from within FileMaker you can:

• show an input dialog to let a user input data in up to 15 fields and up to 4 buttons
• choose these input fields to be any of the following: simple text, password field, popup list or check box
• show a list dialog or very big text dialog
• show temporary flash screens
• show a progress bar for lengthy operations
• add a standard icon or your own custom icons
• present slideshow of images and movies fullscreen

What is new in version 5.1?

Troi Dialog Plug-in 5.1 is a maintenance update for FileMaker 10. It has these fixes and new features:

• Compatible with FileMaker Pro 10
• Updated example files and documentation for FileMaker 10.
• Added new Dial_VersionAutoUpdate function. The Dial_VersionAutoUpdate function is part of an emerging standard for FileMaker plug-ins of third party vendors of plug-ins. The version number is returned in the format aabbccdd where every letter represents a digit of the level, so versions can be easily compared.
• Fixed a bug in the Dial_PresentImage function where error text would be displayed in a very small window.
• Fixed several little cosmetic issues.

New features introduced in version 5.0

Troi Dialog Plug-in 5.1 has the same features as version 5.0, which added these new features:

• An improved InputDialog function: you can now use up to 15 input items!
• A new PresentImage function, which can show a full screen slideshow of images ànd movies.
• A new high precision Dial_GetCurrentTimestamp function, which returns the current date and time, including the fractions of a second.
• Added compatibility with Windows Vista.
• Improved compatibility with Leopard.

• give your users better and flexible feedback
• show quick instructions without the user having to dismiss the dialog
• build multi-language systems more easily
• make your solutions look more professional by using your own icons and title bars in dialogs
• control the way users type in data: you can, for example, let them type more than 10 and less than 40 characters
• show a slideshow of images selected from a found set, for example all images with water as a keyword
• measure finishing times in a race
• measure with accuracy the efficiency of 2 differently implemented scripts.

Pricing & availability

Troi Dialog Plug-in 5.1 works with FileMaker Pro 8.x, 9 and 10. The plug-in can also be used with runtimes from FileMaker Pro Advanced 8.x, 9 or FileMaker Pro Advanced 10. The plug-in is available for Mac OS X and Windows.

On Mac OS X the plug-in runs in Mac OS X 10.4.5 or higher. The plug-in also runs on Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows Vista. QuickTime 7 or later is needed for the Dial_PresentImage() function.

Upgrade information

The update is free for all users of version 5. The 5.1 version works with the 5.0 registration string.

Users who bought a license for Troi Dialog Plug-in version 4.5 on or after February 1st, 2007 are entitled to a free upgrade. We have emailed these registered users a new registration string in February 2008. Please email us if you have not received a new registration string.

Upgrades from licenses bought before February 1st, 2007, are available from US$ 29 per user.

FileMaker Pro 10 compatibility and other Troi Plug-ins

As for our other plug-ins compatibility we have good news: in our preliminary testing we have found no major issues with our current plug-ins.
