Troi Activator Plug-in has the following features:

• trigger a FileMaker script on a different computer
• uses TCP/IP so you can trigger a FileMaker script over the Internet
• built-in security ID to prevent unauthorized triggering
• get the IP address of your computer, so others can send messages to you
• send a message and/or a number (e.g. a record ID) with the trigger
• start and stop listening for remote trigger messages
• trigger a script on a specified date and time
• schedule up to 1000 trigger events which trigger any script you want
• selectively delete events or delete all events
• validate fields on exiting a record with a custom script suited to your specific needs
• run a script from any FileMaker calculation, for example a tooltip.
• trigger a script from a tooltip calculation.
• NEW: list all events and event data including future and triggered events
• trigger a FileMaker script in the background on a runtime
• put the computer to sleep till it needs to be activated again (Mac only)
• built-in registration function
• extensive plug-in version function can return version string, version number and even show the plug-in's flash dialog from a script

Suggested uses

• create a real-time appointment solution
• notify a colleague (on a different computer) that a shared document is ready
• start processing scientific data on a lab computer (see our Serial plug-in for connecting to serial devices)
• get someone out of a record, so that it is no longer locked
• schedule processing incoming email and put the computer to sleep the rest of the time, saving energy

Troi Activator Plug-in will work on these platforms:

System requirements Mac OS X

Mac OS X 10.4.5 or higher.

NOTE the plug-in may work on older Mac OS X versions too, but we do not support this.

System requirements Windows

Windows XP (Service Pack 2) on Intel-compatible computer, Pentium III 500MHz or higher
Windows Vista on Intel-compatible computer, Pentium III 800MHz or higher

FileMaker requirements

FileMaker Pro 7 or FileMaker Developer 7.
FileMaker Pro 8 or FileMaker Pro Advanced 8 or higher.
FileMaker Pro 8.5 or FileMaker Pro Advanced 8.5 or higher.
FileMaker Pro 9 or FileMaker Pro Advanced 9 or higher.
FileMaker Pro 10 or FileMaker Pro Advanced 10 or higher.
FileMaker Pro 11 or FileMaker Pro Advanced 11 or higher.

Troi Activator Plug-in version 2.7 does NOT run on versions prior to FileMaker Pro 7.0. If you need to run on versions prior to FileMaker Pro 7: see our web site for the Troi Activator Plug-in 1.5. The 1.5 version runs on FileMaker 6, 5.x and 4.x.

You can use FileMaker Server to serve databases that use functions of the Activator plug-in. In this case you also need to have the plug-in installed at each client that uses these functions.

Please be aware that we have done only limited testing for FileMaker Pro 4.0, FileMaker Pro 4.1 and runtimes from FileMaker Developer Edition 4.0 and on Mac 68k machines and found no signifcant problems. However, we have dropped support for these FileMaker versions to be able to concentrate on current and future versions of FileMaker.

Troi Activator has not been tested on Terminal Server or Citrix. If you have any feedback on this please let us know.

What are the costs?

We only sell licenses for Troi Activator 2.7 (for FileMaker 11, 10, 9, 8.x or 7). After you have paid you will receive a registration which will work with with version 2.7.

Troi Activator Plug-in 2.7 has the following pricing:

New Licenses:
Single user license: 10-user pack: 25-user pack:	US$ 89 per user US$ 299 US$ 469
Developer Licenses:
Developer license (Mac + Windows):	US$ 469

Note: if you still develop in FileMaker 6: the registration won't work in the 1.5 version. However with your purchase of a 2.7 license, we can provide a free license for the 1.5 version. Please request this by email.

Upgrades from other previous versions

Note that Troi Activator Plug-in 2.7 also works with the registration code for version 2.5 and 2.6.
If you have a license for an older version (2.0 and earlier) you will need to upgrade to use the 2.7 version.

All Troi Plug-ins are available for Macintosh and Windows. When ordering please indicate for which platform you are ordering.

Developer License available

For the Activator Plug-in we have a developer license specially intended for developers of databases. This license allows you to include our plug-in with ALL databases or FileMaker solutions that your company sells to organizations of up to 25 users.
