Updated Troi File Plug-in for Claris FileMaker 26 adds new move to trash functionality
Lienden, the Netherlands, July 16, 2026–Troi is happy to announce the release of Troi File Plug-in 18 for Claris FileMaker 26. With more than 130 functions and script steps this plug-in is the workhorse to manage all your file related tasks.
Troi File Plug-in 18 adds full compatibility with FileMaker Pro 26 (Claris FileMaker 2026). In this version we also added the TrFile_MoveToTrash function and Move To Trash script step. With these you can move a file or a folder to the trash bin (Recycle Bin on Windows). The items will be deleted when the user empties the trash.

- Tested and made compatible with Claris FileMaker Pro 2026 (FileMaker Pro 26).
- Improved compatibility with Claris FileMaker Pro 2025 (FileMaker Pro 22.0.6).
New functionality
- Added the new TrFile_MoveToTrash function and Move To Trash script step. With these you can move a file or a folder to the trash bin (Recycle Bin on Windows). The items will be deleted when the user empties the trash.
Improved Drag and Drop functionality
- Drag and drop is now compatible with FileMaker Pro 26.
- (macOS) Fixed a bug in the Add DragAndDrop Handler script step and the TrFile_DragAndDrop function where it could return error $$-5600 when running on FileMaker Pro 26.
- (Windows) Fixed a problem with the Bring To Front script step, where the step would not work, when running FileMaker Pro 26.
- Fixed a bug in the Add DragAndDrop Handler script step and the TrFile_DragAndDrop function. When you dragged a file above a drop zone, the entire FileMaker window would be highlighted, instead of the rectangle of the drop zone.
Other bug fixes and changes
- Fixed a problem where the TrFile_GetMetaData function could return error code $$-92 (eLenErr) when using the -GetJPEGComment switch”.
- IMPORTANT The minimum supported FileMaker version is now FileMaker Pro 19. Also the minimum supported macOS version is macOS 12 (Monterey). For Windows the minimum supported version is Windows 10 (October 2020 Update (20H2) and later).
- Updated the project and implemented changes for the Plugin API (PlugInSDK 26.0.1.51).
- (Windows) moved the C++ compiler to ISO C++23.
- Several small bug fixes and reliability improvements.

Upgrade information
Troi File Plug-in 18 requires a new version of the registration. If you have a current subscription or if you bought a license on or after July 8, 2025, the upgrade to version 18.0 is free. Eligible users will be sent a new v.18 registration code. Contact us if you have not received yours after July 20, 2026.
