What a great FileMaker DevCon in Dallas!

A great FileMaker DevCon, again!

It was a blast. Really. Troi Plug-ins had a great time at the annual FileMaker Developer Conference, which we affectedly call our DevCon. We loved speaking to so many of you. We didn’t count, but we must have spoken to at least 1299 of the about 1300 people who attended the conference in Dallas.
At night I was even dreaming in FileMaker (and in English too). And nope, I did not sleepwalk.

We were showing off

Troi had a booth at the Exhibition Hall showing of the new functionality of our plug-ins, like the just released Troi Serial Plug-in 5.5. And the Troi File Plug-in 10.0 for FileMaker Pro 17. It was so busy we did not have time to write more blogs during the conference (whats new), but it is also nice to revisit DevCon afterwards.

The Troi Booth, note the stroopwafels (sirup waffles) from the Netherlands!

It is a Workplace Innovation Platform

The kickoff of this years DevCon was on Monday evening, with the Keynote in the Tate Ballroom (a place quite far from the Exhibit hall: lots of walking). We did hear about upcoming product innovations: the FileMaker team gave an exclusive sneak peek at what lies ahead, but we were told not to share this to the world.

On Tuesday it was revealed (with a live stream no less) that FileMaker is no longer a database, or an app, no it is a Workplace Innovation Platform. Maybe this positioning will help to get the message out for FileMaker, and spread the platform. In the mean time FMI published some innovative photos on their website:

WIP it: innovate by fist bump!

More DevCon to come

We also shot a lot of photos this year at the Gaylord Texan Resort (and afterwards at Cow Town), which filled up our hard drives to the brim. So we hope to blog a bit more soon. Stay tuned.
